Before It’s Too Late

Before It’s Too Late is Maryland’s comprehensive strategy to reduce overdose morbidity and mortality across the state. To support this goal, the Opioid Operational Command Center works with all state agencies engaged in opioid crisis response efforts and each of Maryland’s 24 local jurisdictions to promote coordinated action.

Overdose Data Dashboard

To help enhance overdose crisis response efforts, the OOCC tracks and shares data related to recent overdose trends. Our Overdose Data Dashboard contains the most recent data regarding fatal overdoses in Maryland.
 

People with substance use related disorders face prejudice and discrimination due to lack of understanding about the disease. Stigma – like prejudice and discrimination – can perpetuate the problem. Unfortunately, negative attitudes toward people who misuse substances, or mental health conditions, are common.
