MEDIA ADVISORY: Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford to Announce Launch of Maryland Mobile Wellness Initiative in Anne Arundel County

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford, joined by representatives from the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), Opioid Operational Command Center (OOCC), and Anne Arundel County, will unveil Anne Arundel County’s new mobile wellness vehicle tomorrow morning in Crownsville. The vehicle is operated by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health through a grant supported by MDH and OOCC.

The Maryland Mobile Wellness Initiative will support and enhance the County’s array of substance use disorder (SUD) services by offering prevention and treatment, and then links individuals to ongoing care and recovery resources. The mobile wellness vehicle will be staffed by a certified registered nurse practitioner, registered nurse and peer support specialist. The vehicle has a client intake area, two exam rooms and private blood work/discussion area, which will be available to tour following the press conference.
